Fr. Steve Kim

Fr. Steve Kim grew up in Palo Alto and entered the seminary after high school. After receiving his B.A. in Philosophy from Santa Clara University, he earned his M.A., M.Div., and S.T.B. in Theology from St. Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park. After being ordained a priest in 2011, he served for two years at St. John Vianney Parish in East San Jose, seven years at St. Lucy Parish in Campbell, and three years as pastor of St. Leo the Great Parish in San Jose. He is also passionate about Catholic education. He received his M.A. in Educational Leadership from Santa Clara University and completed his Doctorate in Education at the University of Southern California. He taught for over ten years at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, teaching theology and serving as the Director of Campus Ministry. He also taught graduate students in the ExCEL/CatMAT program at Santa Clara University and lay leaders in the ILM (Institute for Leadership in Ministry) program for the Diocese of San Jose. His last assignment was serving as president/principal of St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda for three years. Moreover, he is the founder of several non-profits, including Camp Thrive. He also serves as chaplain for the San Francisco 49ers, the Order of Malta, and Young Catholic Professionals.
