OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults)
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) provides an opportunity for unbaptized adults, teenagers, and children aged 7 and older to develop and deepen their relationship with God. Participants learn about Jesus Christ within the Catholic Christian community and explore what it means to live as His disciples. The process is designed to be welcoming and attentive to the spiritual needs and experiences of each individual and is facilitated by a team of parishioners.
The OCIA is for individuals who have been baptized in other Christian traditions, allowing them to prepare for full communion with the Catholic Church through a profession of faith and the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
Baptized adult Catholics who have not received the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation undergo this process in preparation for those sacraments.
