The State of California removed the capacity limits for all business and masking requirements for fully vaccinated people in many settings, effective June 15, 2021. Although most of the State’s legal mandates are being lifted, we must continue to adhere to recommendations from the CDC, State, and local health officials for the safety of all.

The Diocese of San José is issuing the following modifications to our current COVID safety protocols effective June 18, 2021:

• Registration is no longer required for Mass; however, some parishes may choose to continue to do so.
• The social distance between households during worship and non-worship gatherings will be reduced from 6 feet to 3 feet at the Pastor’s discretion.
• For outdoor worship and non-worship gatherings, the assembly is no longer required to wear masks, as long as social distancing between households is maintained.
• Non-vaccinated assembly members are asked to continue to wear masks at indoor worship and gatherings, per CDC and State protocols.
• Fully vaccinated assembly members are encouraged but not required to wear masks at indoor worship and gatherings, as long as social distancing between households is maintained.
• Proof of vaccination will not be required for attendance at our parishes’ liturgies or gatherings.
• Liturgical ministers, including clergy, are required to wear masks while carrying out their ministry less than 6 ft from others (i.e., Communion ministers and clergy distributing the Eucharist, ushers greeting people and taking the collection, altar servers, etc.)
• Music ministers do not need to wear masks while singing if 6 feet from others.
• Assembly may sing with or without masks while maintaining social distance.
• Hymnals and missalettes may, once again, be used, although single-use worship aids are still safer. It is still recommended that multi-use items be cleaned on a regular basis.
• The collection baskets should be handled only by the ushers rather than passed from person to person.
• Meetings, events, and receptions at parishes will resume, following masking, social distancing, and cleaning

 COVID Safety Protocols still in place:

• Livestreaming Masses for the benefit of those who cannot attend in person is encouraged.
• Outdoor Masses are encouraged.
• Doors and windows are to stay open to ensure maximum ventilation during indoor Masses and gatherings.
• Hand sanitizers are to be readily available at entrances and before Communion for all.
• Holy water fonts will remain empty.
• Sign of Peace to be exchanged without physical touch, except between family members, with a reverent bow or wave to those near them.
• Distribution of Communion under the species of bread only.
• For now, masks, social distancing, healthy hygiene practices, and employee and volunteer training are required for church and school employees and volunteers, even during worship services, as outlined by the CDC, State of California, and Cal OSHA.

 Exception for Children & Youth Activities
School and parish youth events are still subject to the specific public health guidelines for youth activities, including stable cohorts and masking of ALL individuals indoors.

As public health officials remind us, the pandemic is not yet completely over. We must continue to be vigilant and responsible in ensuring the maximum health and safety of our parish communities. All the faithful are encouraged to receive the COVID-19 vaccination when available.  Please consult with your doctor regarding any personal health concerns.

The Diocese will continue to evaluate our protocols during the summer, and we are hopeful that we will be able to loosen restrictions further in August.

Dear Parishioner,

Thank you for your continued support of the parish through your prayers, and the sharing of your time, talent, and treasure. This past year has been difficult for all of us. I hope that you are well and that your loved ones are all safe and healthy.

As you know I have been working as Administrator of this wonderful parish, along with Fr. Paul Cuong, since February.  We will be finishing our assignments in a few weeks and have enjoyed your friendship and support.

I write to you now seeking your help. We have a serious termite problem in our church and rectory, and we must fumigate both locations. We will begin that work on Monday, June 21, in the Church, and that will take a few days. We will do the rectory later.

The cost of the two projects will be $30,000 and we plan to raise that amount in a focused fundraising drive. To that end, we seek your support for this essential work.

Please consider donating to the Termite Drive using the enclosed envelope and drop it in the collection basket, in the office, or in the mail.

Xin cảm ơn quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em đă tiếp tục hỗ trợ giáo xứ qua lời cầu nguyện, chia sẻ thời gian, tài năng và tài chánh.

Năm vừa qua, là thời gian thật khó khăn đối với tất cả chúng ta. Tôi hy vọng rằng mọi người chúng ta và những người thân yêu của chúng ta đều an toàn và khỏe mạnh.

Như quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em đă biết, tôi đă làm việc với tư cách là Cha Quản trị của giáo xứ St. Elizabeth, cùng với Cha Paul Cường Phan kể từ tháng Hai. Chúng tôi sẽ hoàn thành nhiệm vụ của mình trong vài tuần nữa và rất chân thành cảm ơn tình cảm và sự hỗ trợ của qúy Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em đối với chúng tôi.

Nay tôi viết thư này cho quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em là để một lần nữa mời gọi sự giúp đỡ và hỗ trợ của qúy vị.

Chúng ta có một vấn đề nghiêm trọng về mối mọt trong nhà thờ và nhà xứ của chúng ta, và chúng ta phải khử trùng tại cả hai địa điểm, nếu không mối mọt sẽ nhanh chóng lan rộng và sẽ gây thiệt hại nặng nề cho nhà thờ và nhà xứ.  Chúng ta sẽ bắt đầu công việc đó vào thứ Hai ngày 21 tháng 6, tại Nhà thờ, và sẽ mất một vài ngày. Sau đó, chúng ta sẽ làm đến nhà xứ.

Chi phí của hai dự án được ước tính là $30,000, và chúng ta dự định sẽ huy động cho số tiền đó trong một đợt gây quỹ chung trong toàn giáo xứ.

Gracias por su continuo apoyo a la parroquia a través de sus oraciones y por compartir su tiempo, talento y tesoro. Este último año ha sido difícil para todos. Espero que se encuentre bien y que todos sus seres queridos estén sanos y salvos.

Como saben, he estado trabajando como Administrador de esta maravillosa parroquia, junto con el Padre Paul-Cuong desde febrero. Terminaremos nuestras asignaciones en unas semanas más, hemos  disfrutado de su amistad y todo su apoyo.

Les escribo ahora en busca de su ayuda. Tenemos un gran y serio problema de termitas en nuestra iglesia y en la rectoría,  debemos fumigar ambos lugares. Comenzaremos este trabajo el lunes 21 de junio, en la Iglesia, y eso llevará unos días. Haremos la rectoría más adelante.

El costo de los dos proyectos es de $ 30,000 y planeamos recaudar esta cantidad en una campaña de recaudación de fondos enfocada sólo para éste fin.   Para ello, buscamos su apoyo para continuar con esta labor fundamental.

Por favor considere donar a “Termite Drive”   usando el sobre adjunto y colóquelo en la canasta de la colecta, o en la oficina parroquial  o puede enviarla por corréo.
