RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) Information
Through the Rite of Christian of Adults (RCIA), unbaptized adults, teenagers and children (ages 7 and above) develop, deepen and enrich their relationship with God. The unbaptized come to know Jesus Christ within the Catholic Christian community and they learn to live as Jesus’ disciples. The process is welcoming and sensitive to the spiritual needs and experience of each person and lead by a team of parishioners.
The RCIA is also for those who are baptized in other Christian traditions to prepare for full communion into the Catholic Church through a profession of faith and the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
Baptized adult Catholics who have not yet celebrated their first communion and confirmation prepare for these sacraments through this process.
In the RCIA we meet weekly to share the Word of God, reflect upon God’s call, and be formed in the rituals and teachings of the Church. There are rites that mark each of the stages of the catechumenate which lead those to be initiated (or complete their initiation) to the celebration of the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and communion at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday night.
The process begins with a personal conversation to determine how we can best guide you on your journey of faith.
